Mr Anthony Roberts, the Fair Trading Minister, was quoted on ABC Radio has announced that strata laws need to change to suit the current demands of people living in units today. This is amazing news for anyone that has lived or is currently living in units or dwellings that are governed by strata levies.
What are the new changes?
Mr Roberts outlined that more say will be given to occupiers, in regards to New bylaws allowing pets in units, curbing smoking on apartment balconies and preventing the installation of noisy timber and tiled floors are among the changes in the biggest overhaul of strata laws in more than 50 years.
It seems as though that the occupiers will get more say in what can and can’t be done. A welcome change for sure!
